MSC Cruises kicked off its Northern European summer season this weekend with MSC Seaview departing from the German port of Kiel for its inaugural 7-night Baltic Sea cruise. MSC Seaview is the seventh MSC Cruises ship to resume itineraries, and three more are preparing for future voyages, which will see half of the company's fleet back at sea by the end of the summer.
MSC Seaview will be based in Kiel until early October, welcoming Spanish and international passengers on an attractive itinerary with stops in Visby, the largest city on the Swedish island of Gotland; Nynäshamn, near the Swedish capital of Stockholm; and Tallinn, the capital of Estonia, before returning to its home port in northern Germany. MSC Cruises' industry-first protected shore excursions are available at all ports of call.
Another German port will be added to the MSC Seaview itinerary to further enrich the passenger experience. The ship will call at Warnemünde from July 23, adding another port of embarkation and disembarkation in Germany, as well as offering another attractive option for shore excursions. Located at the mouth of the Warnow River on the Baltic Sea, Warnemünde, a former fishing village and popular seaside resort, surprises with its charm and expansive white beach. Passengers can also visit Rostock and Berlin, the vibrant German capital, where various excursions will be offered.
Spanish passengers will have the option of enjoying all-inclusive flights to Hamburg, thanks to a collaboration with the IAG group, from Madrid and Barcelona. The Madrid route will feature charter flights operated by Iberia, exclusively for MSC Cruises passengers, departing on Saturdays at 10:00 AM and arriving in Hamburg at 1:00 PM. For the Barcelona route, a regular flight with Vueling will operate from El Prat Airport, departing on Saturdays at 10:15 AM and arriving in the German city at 1:00 PM. *To board and ensure a safe travel bubble, passengers must present a negative antigen test taken within 48 hours of departure, have completed their vaccination schedule with vaccines accepted by the European Union, or have contracted the disease within the last 6 months and have a certificate confirming this. Upon arrival in Hamburg, passengers will be transferred by bus to the Port of Kiel, maintaining the required social distance at all times.
Five MSC Cruises ships are currently sailing in the Mediterranean: MSC Grandiosa, MSC Seaside, MSC Orchestra, MSC Splendida, and MSC Magnifica. A sixth ship, MSC Virtuosa, has been operating UK cruises exclusively for British passengers since May 20.
MSC Meraviglia will resume Caribbean cruises from Miami starting August 2nd, and MSC Divina will return to sailing from September 18th from Port Canaveral, near Orlando (Florida).
MSC Seashore will enter service in August with cruises in the Western Mediterranean, before the company's newest flagship moves to Miami in November for a season in the Caribbean.
