Crystal Expedition Cruises today announced the successful completion of the second and final sea trial for its new luxury expedition yacht, Crystal Endeavor, marking another significant milestone toward the vessel's upcoming delivery. The Crystal Endeavor's final sea trial commenced on Thursday, May 20, and the yacht returned to the shipyard on the afternoon of May 23, where the final stages of the construction process will be completed. Technical delivery of the vessel is scheduled for May 27, 2021.
During sea trials, the Crystal Endeavour underwent rigorous performance and operational testing of the ship's systems, machinery, and engines, including safety, navigation, and propulsion systems, as well as noise and vibration measurements. Captain Thomas Larsen, along with senior members of the Crystal Endeavour's bridge and engineering teams, participated in the sea trials in collaboration with the engineers, naval architects, and shipbuilders from the expert team at MV WERFTEN in Stralsund. The crew noted that the ship “is an absolute gem and performed like a dream, far exceeding specifications.”.
“These sea trials mark another successful milestone in the highly anticipated debut of Crystal Endeavour, bringing the Crystal Experience to the most remote places on the planet,” said Jack Anderson, president of Crystal.
The 20,200 GRT Crystal Endeavour is designed with power, efficiency, and the world's environments in mind, and will be the industry's most spacious, fastest, and most powerful expedition ship, with a Polar Class 6 (PC6) rating that allows it to sail in the Arctic and Antarctic regions.

The Crystal Endeavour, the first and only luxury expedition ship to sail the Arctic and Northern Europe once again, will set sail from July 17th with five immersive 10-night voyages circumnavigating Iceland's most spectacular and captivating locations. The Luxury Expedition to Iceland voyages will depart from the ship's home port of Reykjavik and will be followed by the 10-night Viking Voyage: Iceland and Norway from Reykjavik to Tromsø, departing on September 5, 2021.
