Suncruise Andalucía, the Association for the Promotion of Andalusia as a cruise destination, which includes the port authorities of Algeciras, Almería, Cádiz, Huelva, Málaga, Motril and Seville, held its board meeting today.

During the meeting, Suncruise renewed its action plan for 2021, a year in which it wants to reinforce its mission to promote the Andalusian coast as a Mediterranean and Atlantic benchmark in Southern Europe.
As explained by the president of Suncruise Andalucía, José García Fuentes, “our vision is to build a quality, strategic, innovative, sustainable destination that is committed to an unparalleled cultural, heritage and gastronomic offering.”.
Not surprisingly, throughout 2020 Suncruise has positioned itself in the tourism sector through agreements reached with organizations such as CLIA, Ostelea or the Maritime-Marine Cluster of Andalusia.
Similarly, the association has participated in numerous international events such as Boot Düsseldorf, Fitur 2020, the S-Moving Greencities Forum or the International Cruise Summit, culminating the course with CITCA Suncruise, the congress organized by the association itself, which took place on October 29 and 30 in Seville.
This event was one of the main actions of the 2020-2021 Strategic Plan prepared by Suncruise Andalucía.
Its celebration strengthened the relationship of the ports with the territory, the sustainability and accessibility of cruise tourism and also its evolution towards smart infrastructures where leisure is the protagonist.
Future projects
Among the initiatives that Suncruise Andalucía will undertake in the coming weeks, the following stand out: collaboration with the Faculty of Tourism of the University of Malaga, coordination of European funds, integration into the META Plan – the first Strategic Tourism Plan in Andalusia – and the development of new regional conferences linked to cruise tourism.
In the area of communication, Suncruise will seek to become a benchmark for innovation and knowledge dissemination for the cruise sector and tourist destinations, through new brands and formats that allow the sector to quickly and easily access the latest industry trends.
Similarly, the association will continue to support the celebration of a new edition of CITCA, which will be held in Malaga, and the launch of webinars throughout the year that reinforce the spirit of collaboration and shared knowledge that began with the first edition of the congress in Seville.
