Silversea sees positive data in its customers' bookings

Luxury and expedition cruise line Silversea, now part of Royal Caribbean Group, has released some booking data that demonstrates customer loyalty and engagement. On July 22, the cruise line announced an extension of its Cruise with Confidence policy, which offers greater flexibility for booking changes and last-minute cancellations.

Silversea sees positive data in its customers' bookings

  • Approximately 50% of customers accepted a credit toward a future cruise instead of a refund. Thanks to travel agencies, which successfully persuaded customers to use their booking balance on a future trip, these agencies also benefited from double commission (for the canceled booking and the new one).
  • 53% of new bookings come from members of the Venetian Society loyalty club, meaning they are repeat customers.
  • 57% of the months chosen for future travel fall between May and December 2021, dates when sailing is mainly done in the most popular destinations: Northern Europe, the Mediterranean and Alaska.
  • 64% of customers have chosen the same destination.

These figures undoubtedly confirm the brand's customer loyalty and a positive outlook for 2021.
