Barcelona's cruise port has obtained the "Safe Travels" seal, as safe infrastructure in the face of COVID-19, awarded by the World Travel & Tourism Council, a leading global association in the tourism and travel sector.
International security seal
Although cruise traffic has been one of the sectors most affected during the health crisis, the Barcelona Cruise Port (a company that manages five cruise terminals in the Port of Barcelona and belongs to Global Ports) has worked in collaboration with the Port Authority of Barcelona to implement health measures that guarantee the safety of ships, crews, and passengers. In this way, the Port of Barcelona, along with Malaga, has become a pioneer in obtaining this international recognition.
This distinction will position Barcelona very positively in regaining the confidence of cruise lines when cruise operations resume in the near future.

National quality seal
The Barcelona cruise port has also obtained the 'Responsible Tourism' quality seal, awarded by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism of the Government of Spain, which recognizes the application of the guidelines and recommendations contained in the guides of measures for the reduction of contagions approved by the Ministry of Health, includingspecifications of service, cleaning and disinfection, maintenance and risk management for different subsectors of the tourism sector.
This certification, which must be renewed annually, recognizes the company's responsibility and effort to create a safe environment to generate trust and security for companies linked to the tourism sector and their clients.
