The Scenic Group announces the suspension of all its river and ocean cruises, as well as land tourism operations for its brands Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours, Emerald Cruises, and Evergreen Cruises & Tours, until August 31, 2020. For the Scenic Eclipse, departures are suspended until September 30, 2020.
Rob Voss, Chief Operating Officer of the Scenic Group, explains: “Our top priority is ensuring the safety of our passengers and crew before resuming operations. While there has been progress in national COVID-19 measures, travel restrictions still vary considerably from country to country, making sailing difficult. There is also a need for further development of effective health protocols across the industry, and our decision to suspend operations until August 31, 2020, allows more time to develop those protocols and gives our customers more time to plan their future voyages.”.
The Scenic Group is offering customers with existing cruise bookings Flexible Future Travel Credits valued at 110% of the amount paid and 100% of the amount paid on any affected land tour, including Egypt. Customers can redeem these Future Travel Credits for any new or existing booking with any of the brands (Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours, Scenic Eclipse, Emerald Cruises, and Evergreen Cruises & Tours) until June 30, 2023, and these Future Travel Credits are fully transferable. If a customer is unable to travel before June 30, 2023, they will receive a cash refund of the amount paid.
The Scenic Group also commits to protecting travel agent commissions on fully paid, suspended cruise bookings and the full amount in future travel credits.
