Princess Cruises recently opened The Reef Family Splash Zone, a new interactive area for the whole family on the main deck of the Caribbean Princess, one of the cruise line's flagship ships, which can accommodate 3,149 passengers. Among its new features are a children's water park, a completely renovated swimming pool, and a lounge.
The Reef Family Splash Zone includes:
- The Winnie the Whale play area: a water playground with a pool, jets, and showers, featuring an interactive whale, Winnie, from whose tail water will squirt. Winnie is one of the members of 'Animal Planet,' Princess's program for endangered species at its Camp Discovery centers for young people and teenagers, where they learn about the anatomy of humpback whales.
- A renovated spa and bar area with a family pool and jacuzzi. Morgan's Bar has launched a children's menu featuring mocktails (non-alcoholic cocktails) such as the Crazy Coconut and the Berry Nice to Meet You.
- A new lounge outdoor offers a wide variety of seating and relaxation options, from individual sun loungers to outdoor sofas and tables. The space also features new furniture, different finishes, and awnings that provide ample shade.
- A play area for all ages where you can do activities such as playing Connect Four or giant Jenga.
In addition to these features, right under the Reef, in the outdoor area of Camp Discovery, children can interact and explore thanks to a themed water table that shows all the most iconic landmarks and places on the cruise they are taking, including the Sydney Opera House or the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, as well as teaching how a cruise ship moves on the water, among the waves and according to the weather.
The Caribbean Princess boasts a wide variety of innovative features for the whole family, the result of a multimillion-dollar refurbishment. These include three themed nightclubs, a collaboration between the cruise line and Discovery Channel, geared towards teens and young adults; a variety of children's games and activities, ranging from science experiments and astronomy to mini-golf tournaments and talent shows; and interconnecting cabins for large groups of friends and family.
Furthermore, this is the first ship in the Princess fleet to incorporate the award-winning Ocean Medallion system. This system uses an automated device, about the size of a one-euro coin, that unlocks a whole new level of convenience, facilitating a much more streamlined and personalized vacation experience. Among its features is the ability to use a locator for family and friends, allowing guests to quickly find them on board.
