Madrid, July 17, 2019 - Pullmantur Cruises - the only cruise line on the market that brings the Spanish lifestyle to the way of traveling on a cruise - creates The Factory, a novel entertainment program for teenagers.

Aimed at young people aged 12 to 17, it combines a real and a virtual space, giving participants the freedom and control to decide what they want to do at any given moment of their cruise days. Because at The Factory, they create the fun and the rules.
Thus, teenagers are always the focus and have access to a wide variety of leisure activities and resources designed specifically for them to enjoy both individually and in groups. They also have the support of Coworkers, specialized activity leaders with whom they can plan their days on board.
According to Richard J. Vogel, President & CEO of Pullmantur Cruises, “we are immersed in a process of adapting our entertainment programs, taking into even greater account the preferences of passengers and current trends.”
In this respect, the way teenagers entertain themselves—who are increasingly demanding and have a clearer idea of what they want—"is also evolving, and we had to adapt our offerings to their tastes and expectations." To that end, "we've opted for this innovative program that gives them great freedom—a highly valued aspect for young people—and with which we are confident we will contribute to making their onboard experience memorable," Vogel concludes.
The activities: a virtual and real space
Young people are connected with each other and with their coworkers through mobile apps, where they choose the day's activities or the theme of the next party. They also receive instructions about each gathering—such as the location and time—through these apps.
In addition, they participate in a group competition, the prize for which is being honored at the closing ceremony. The winning team is the one that accumulates the most points throughout the various challenges.
These teams also face – through their smartphones – individual virtual competitions that keep them very attentive to the journey: they have to answer questions related to the next stop or the ship they are sailing on.
They also have their own dedicated space on board—inspired by a factory concept and featuring an industrial style—where they can all create their own fun together. Specifically, on the Sovereign, Zenith, and Monarch ships, this space is divided into different co-creation zones:
- Sports area: for playing foosball, ping-pong or darts.
- Gaming area: where you can spend some time with a video game console or use virtual reality glasses.
- Art Zone: The best place to show off your creativity with graffiti.
- Music area: perfect for playing an instrument, singing Karaoke or becoming the trendy DJ for a moment.
Of course, holidays are also for relaxing. The Factory has a chill-out area where you can unwind or take a nap to recharge between activities.
This new program is already available on the Sovereign, the Zenith and the Horizon and will be available on the Monarch starting in October.
