Pullmantur Cruises has organized the first edition of GastroFest, its own gastronomic festival, through which the company has raised funds for the Juegaterapia Foundation. The event took place at the cruise line's offices this Friday, April 26.
Thanks to the more than 50 volunteers who participated in designing and preparing a variety of tapas, the rest of the staff were able to enjoy the cuisine of more than 10 countries, all of which are home to members of the company's team, both on board and on land. Some of the dishes included Uruguayan empanadas, Venezuelan arepas, and a delicious brownie to end the day on a sweet note.
Thus, all these products, which were sold for 1, 2 or 3 euros during the two hours that the day lasted, have allowed us to raise 1,800 euros for 'La Paz en Órbita', a project carried out by the Juegaterapia Foundation with which it is hoped to rehabilitate and condition the Pediatric Hemato-Oncology Unit of the Maternal and Child Hospital of La Paz in Madrid.
This area of the hospital will be transformed into a spaceship where the little ones can embark on an interstellar journey, observe the stars and planets, or even reach lunar and planetary stations from their own lunar landing capsule.
As stated by Richard J. Vogel, President & CEO of Pullmantur Cruises, this initiative “is part of our commitment as a company to support different social entities with the great work they do, but above all, it reflects the commitment of each and every person who is part of this team.”
Furthermore, Vogel assures that, on this occasion, “we are especially excited to contribute to this project being carried out by the Juegaterapia Foundation and we hope to closely follow the journey that these little astronauts will take aboard such a special spacecraft.”.
This project is part of Pullmantur Cruises' Corporate Social Responsibility program, "Moved by your heart", promoted by the Human Resources Department.

As part of the company project "Movidos x ti" (Driven by you), Pullmantur Cruises launched its Corporate Social Responsibility program " Movidos x tu corazón" (Driven by your heart) in mid-2016, through which company volunteers have promoted different solidarity initiatives in favor of the Food Bank, the AMAN Soup Kitchen, the AECC, Juegaterapia and Riendamiga, as well as their participation in the Solidarity Day of Companies with International Cooperation, among others.
