Madrid, December 3, 2018 – MSC Cruises, the world’s largest privately owned cruise company, headquartered in Switzerland and the market leader in Europe, South America, and the Gulf, today confirmed that its upcoming MSC World Cruise 2019 will feature a stellar lineup of international chefs to offer passengers an unprecedented gourmet dining experience. This includes world-renowned chefs with up to three Michelin stars, authors of award-winning cookbooks, or recipients of major culinary accolades.

Passengers embarking on the MSC Magnifica on January 7th from Barcelona to enjoy the company's first world cruisewill visit up to 32 different countries and embark on a true visual, sensory and culinary experience.
The chefs participating in this 119-day voyage , who will come aboard at different times, will create their own dishes specially designed for MSC Cruises passengers. For their creations, each chef has drawn on the flavors and traditions of their home country. The chefs chosen by MSC Cruises for its 2019 World Cruise come from almost every corner of the globe.
- The renowned Spanish chef with 2 Michelin stars, Ramón Freixa.
- The award-winning Indian-American chef, Vikas Hkanna.
- The award-winning Italian chef,Carlo
- The two-time World Pastry Champion, French Chef, Jean-Philippe Maury.
- Chef,author and restaurateur, Roy Yamaguchi.
- Expert and founder of four Chinese cooking schools,Chef Jereme
- Veteran Brazilian chef and restaurateur, Allan Vila
- Jorge Rausch, a member of the MasterChef Colombia jury.
- The award-winning “Chef of the Year” of French-Canadian origin, Serge Dansereau.
Each acclaimed chef will develop a three- to four-course menu for passengers to enjoy during a single evening dedicated to their culinary expertise. Pastry chef Jean-Philippe Maury will also prepare a special dessert for the same menu. Most of the chefs will embark on board for part of the cruise with a team of professionals to work on their creations. In addition, during this dinner, the chefs will visit the ship's restaurants to greet and interact with passengers in person while they enjoy their delicious dishes.

As MSC Cruises prepares to welcome passengers on its first world cruise, those wishing to join the next adventure can still make their reservation for 2020.
Among the 43 destinations in 23 countries that MSC World Cruise 2020 will visit are a large number of new and exotic options, such as:

- Valparaiso, Chile: Famous for its small, colorful houses on the coastal hills, cruise passengers can get a spectacular view of the Pacific or explore the city, in search of its photogenic art walls.
- Mumbai/Bombay, India: The bustling city of Mumbai (formerly called Bombay) offers smells, tastes, and sights around every corner.

Barcelona, Spain – January 8
Spanish chef Ramón Freixa will prepare the menu for January 8th, featuring a delicious duck à la Royale with foie gras cream and other Mediterranean flavors, such as sauteed scallops, and a white chocolate mousse with champagne jelly.
Navigation – January 15
The next chef to appear on MSC Magnifica will be Brazilian, Allan Vila Espejo, offering passengers a complete menu of four exotic dishes from his homeland on the night of January 15.
Cartagena, Colombia – January 24
As a judge on MasterChef Colombia, chef Jorge Rausch knows everything necessary to create a top- notch dish . To share his Colombian roots, Chef Rausch has designed a menu featuring octopus and shrimp ceviche, white fish Boronia, and Rausch -style Posta Negra Cartagenera : pork ribs cooked in tamarind and panela, served with plantain and coconut rice.
San Diego, USA – February 5
Considered by many to be one of the world's best pastry chefs, French-born chef Jean-Philippe Maury will embark in San Diego, home of his latest venture, iDessert. The pastry chef and chocolatier will tempt passengers' taste buds with his sweet creation, "CroustiChoc.".
Honolulu, Hawaii – February 17
Japanese-American chef Roy Yamaguchi will bring Asian flavors to MSC Magnifica with a menu that will include butterfish, lobster and shrimp Misoyaki with fried rice, pork chop teriyaki with Hawaii's own chimichurri sauce and a vanilla pannacotta with magnolia ice cream for dessert.
At sea – March 20
Serge Dansereau will join MSC Magnifica in mid-March, to offer passengers a tuna and yellowtail tartare, followed by a lamb loin with potato gratin and a chocolate cake with lemon and hazelnut cream to finish.
Singapore – April 2
Acclaimed Chinese chef Jereme Leung has worked with MSC Cruises for the past three years and will once again delight our guests with a delicious menu to remember, featuring a three-course culinary experience with an Asian fusion of winter melon soup, chicken curry, and Cheng Teng.
Male, Maldives – April 10
Indian chef Vikas Khanna joins the ship for the final leg of the journey to serve a flavorful menu inspired by his homeland, including starfruit fried fish with tamarind chutney and kale salad, lemon and spinach soup with Mumbai coconut, and chicken and fig roll. For dessert, a saffron and spiced yogurt pudding with roasted apples and fennel biscotti
Finally, Italian chef Carlo Cracco, a long-time collaborator with MSC Cruises, will join the ship as the final chef for its return voyage to Italy. Details of the culinary experience Carlo Cracco will offer will be announced individually in the coming days.
In addition to these renowned chefs, MSC Cruises' corporate chef and pastry chef, Francesco Laforgia and Bruno Zaza, will jointly create more than 230 different menus for the main restaurants, including themed dishes that are linked to the MSC Magnifica itinerary and will also be served at the 'Sahara Buffet'.
