CroisiEurope, Europe's largest river cruise operator, has announced details of its exclusive Danube cruise which includes two nights in Oberammergau with tickets to the world-renowned theatrical performance "The Passion of Oberammergau".
From May 16 to October 4, 2020, the residents of Oberammergau, a fairytale village in Bavaria, Germany, will once again perform their famous Passion Play, the Oberammergau Passion Play, a tradition dating back to 1634 and performed every ten years. The reenactment involves more than 2,000 residents, a full orchestra, and a large stage, commemorating Christ's journey to Jerusalem, his death, and resurrection.
The exclusive eight-day itinerary begins with a six-day Danube River aboard the MS Symphonie, launched in 2017. The cruise includes full board, drinks, and port taxes, from Budapest to Passau, with stops in Bratislava, Vienna, and Melk. The itinerary continues with a transfer to Oberammergau for a two-night stay, during which passengers will enjoy prime seating for a performance of The Passion Play. There are three departures: June 17, July 17, and August 26, 2020.
The itinerary is also available starting with two nights in Oberammergau followed by a six-day cruise from Passau to Budapest with two departures on July 20 and August 19, 2020.
