MIAMI, March 6, 2018 – Today, Crystal unveiled the final details and images of its upcoming expedition yacht, Crystal Endeavour, during a press conference at the Seatrade Cruise Global trade show in Fort Lauderdale. Crystal President and CEO Tom Wolber shared some of the planned signature features for the yacht, emphasizing Crystal's commitment to space, elegance, and comfort. At 19,800 gross tons, the all-suite, polar-class yacht will be the world's largest and most spacious expedition yacht.
“Crystal’s entry into expedition cruising is a natural response to the demand from many travelers seeking more immersive and active experiences in lesser-known destinations around the world,” said Wolber. “Our guests will enjoy an unforgettable adventure aboard Crystal Endeavour, without sacrificing the standard of excellence and luxury that the Crystal brand has come to know and love.”
The standard includes restaurants and public spaces that guests have long enjoyed aboard Crystal's ocean-going ships, as well as new facilities specifically designed for expedition cruises.
The dining experience aboard the Crystal Endeavour will remain true to the diverse menus and international cuisine offered on all Crystal ships, with fine wines and premium spirits included.
Specialty restaurants include Prego, offering Italian cuisine, and the distinctive Vintage Room, as well as Umi Uma, serving sushi and specialties by Master Chef Nobu Matsuhisa. Additionally, the yacht will feature an elegant main restaurant, Waterside; the Asian-inspired Silk Kitchen & Bar, located on the two-story sundeck; and the European-inspired Bistro-Café, offering full breakfasts and lunches, and the perfect spot for an espresso or tea.
The elegant Palm Court Lounge – a favorite for afternoon tea, cocktails, dancing, and panoramic views aboard all Crystal ships – will be featured on Crystal Endeavour for evening entertainment, presentations, and classes. Other favorite social spots include the Connoisseur Club Cigar Lounge and Crystal Cove, the ship's heart where guests can listen to presentations by special guests, as well as enjoy pre-dinner cocktails or late-night entertainment. There will also be the first casino on an expedition ship.
The enrichment lounges include the Captain's Lounge, the Expedition Lounge, the Helicopter Lounge, and the Library. The Promenade stretches from Crystal Cove to Waterside and will be a more intimate space for guests to enjoy cocktails, conversation, and spectacular views. Wellness options include a fully equipped fitness center and the Crystal Life Spa & Crystal Life Salon with treatment rooms, and separate saunas and steam rooms for men and women.
The two-level solarium pool deck will be covered with a glass roof.
The Polar 6 class will allow the Crystal Endeavour to operate through ice during the summer and autumn. The ship will feature the latest technological advancements, including dynamic positioning. Its debut is scheduled for 2020.
