Crystal reached a major milestone in the expansion of the Crystal Yacht Expedition Cruises fleet, with the cutting of the first steel plate of the Crystal Endeavour at the MV Werften shipyards in Stralsund, Germany.
President and CEO Tom Wolber, along with Chairman of the Board and CEO of parent company Genting Hong Kong, Tan Sri Lim Kok Thay, attended the ceremony which took place on Monday, January 15.
“Today is a special day in the development of the Crystal Endeavour, which will represent the next level of exploration for the Crystal brand,” said Wolber. “We are delighted to be collaborating again with the experts at MV Werften to work on a vision for the Crystal Endeavour that truly embodies the spirit of exploration of Crystal Yacht Expedition Cruises.”
“We are eagerly anticipating this innovative exploration yacht at the Stralsund shipyard,” said Tan Sri Lim Kok Thay. “We are highlighting our investment of over €20 million in new equipment to ensure the Stralsund shipyard can continue to efficiently build cruise ships in the future.”
