Madrid, November 30 – MSC Cruises today celebrated the commissioning of MSC Seaside, its new flagship, in the port of Trieste, as it prepares to welcome its first passengers and cross the Atlantic to its new home port of Miami. MSC Seaside is the 14th addition to the MSC Cruises fleet and the second ship to enter service in 2017 as part of the company's unprecedented investment plan.
MSC Seaside is a brand-new prototype, designed specifically for sun lovers and to allow passengers to enjoy the sea like never before. The ship features expansive outdoor public spaces so passengers can make the most of the sunshine. The design also provides access to certain aspects of sailing that truly distinguish a holiday cruise. This is the company's fifth new prototype. Each new MSC Cruises ship is designed to further enhance the cruise experience, offering something unique and different each time.
Unlike other ships, MSC Seaside will be Miami's newest star, with a distinctive and truly recognizable design inspired by Miami beachfront apartment architecture. MSC Seaside will offer world-class entertainment, a wide variety of new international dining concepts, excellent family facilities, the MSC Yacht Club, which has become MSC Cruises' signature luxury offering, and much more. MSC Seaside will depart from Trieste on December 1st and undertake a 21-day transatlantic crossing, arriving at its new home port of Miami on December 21st. That same evening, MSC Cruises' new flagship will be officially christened in a dazzling naming ceremony, which would not be complete without the presence of MSC Cruises' Godmother, Sophia Loren, who has hosted this cherished tradition since 2003.
MSC Seaside will sail year-round from Miami on 7-night Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries starting December 23, 2017.
