Barcelona, Oct. 25 – The Port of Barcelona approved on Wednesday the start of the bidding process for phase 3 of the expansion of the Adossat dock, with a budget of 39 million euros.
The project is part of the planned expansion of the Port, which includes the development of the docks along the East and South breakwaters, the two structures built to provide sheltered waters for the port's growth. Specifically, the expansion of the Adossat dock corresponds to the planned dock development along the East breakwater and will allow, in the future, the construction of new ferry and cruise. This project involves the southward extension of the Adossat 2B dock and includes the construction of a 476-meter-long section with a 12-meter draft, as well as the subsequent extension of the dock itself by approximately 480 meters.
Port Roundabout
The Board of Directors of the Port of Barcelona has also approved the tender for the second phase of the Ronda del Port urbanization project, with an initial budget of €3.1 million. This phase will include the construction of a roundabout to increase the capacity and safety of this road. The works will be carried out on an area of 33,252 square meters and will take 11.5 months to complete.
