On March 30, the Costa Victoria will resume Mediterranean cruises. The ship has been operating in China since 2012, offering cruises dedicated to the local market, as a pioneering cruise line in establishing services there. During the summer of 2018, it will offer week-long itineraries focused on the beaches and entertainment of the Balearic Islands – originally planned for the Costa neoRiviera – departing from Tarragona and visiting destinations such as Savona (Italy), Olbia (Sardinia), Menorca, Ibiza (until 4:00 AM), and Palma de Mallorca. Guests choosing this cruise will have the opportunity to explore some of the most beautiful destinations in the Mediterranean at a leisurely pace and enjoy the best beaches and entertainment to their heart's content. Furthermore, this itinerary will allow guests to enjoy a unique experience at PorAventura World at the end of their voyage, including the recently opened Ferrari Land theme park. The decision regarding the Costa Victoria has been made to maintain the offering in a highly popular area of the Mediterranean.
While awaiting the arrival of four new ships starting in 2019, which will allow Costa to expand its presence in Europe and Asia (two of them will operate for Costa Cruises and the other two for Costa Asia), the Italian company has accelerated its fleet renewal process by selling the Costa neoClassica, one of its oldest ships. Therefore, as of March 10, 2018, once the regular schedule to India and the Maldives ends, the Costa neoClassica will no longer be part of the Costa fleet.
From June 2018, the Costa neoRiviera will replace the Costa neoClassica, offering week-long itineraries around the Greek Islands, with Bari as its sole homeport. Costa Cruises will honor bookings for passengers already booked on the Costa neoRiviera and Costa neoClassica and has implemented the necessary procedures to fully inform passengers and travel agencies.
Before beginning its regular schedule in the Mediterranean, the Costa Victoria will be remodeled at the Chantier Naval shipyard in Marseille.
