The Port of the Bay of Cadiz received 30,008 cruise passengers in 26 calls in November, bringing the total to 372,152 tourists and 266 ships so far this year.
If the forecasts are correct, 14 more cruise ships will arrive at the dock in December, bringing the total for 2016 to 280 calls, 9 fewer than last year.
It is important to remember the socioeconomic impact that cruise traffic has on the surrounding area. According to the latest study carried out by the Andalusian Regional Government on cruise tourism in the region, the average expenditure per passenger per day is estimated at around €34.23 (2015).
For 2017, 282 cruise ship calls have already been announced, with the highest activity again concentrated in the spring and autumn, specifically in the months of April, May, September, October, and November, when more than 30 calls per month are expected in all of them. The months with the fewest ships will be January and February.
