British company Thomson Cruises reaffirms its commitment to Malaga as a home port, choosing the port facility again to make 20 stops with the start and/or end of the itinerary during the summer season of next year 2017.
The ship 'TUI Discovery 2' will make the itinerary departing from and arriving at the Port of Malaga every Sunday from May 14 to September 24, thus breaking with the seasonality of the spring and autumn months.
The shipping company anticipates 72,000 homeported passengers, representing a 28.5% increase compared to the current year. Although the number of homeported calls is lower in 2017 than in 2016 (20 versus 26), passenger volume is expected to increase next year because the new vessel has a greater capacity than the 'Thomson Spirit', which is currently based in Málaga this summer.
This 264-meter-long ship, with a maximum capacity to accommodate 1,800 passengers, will include the ports of Barcelona, Valencia, Ibiza, Porto, Lisbon, and Marseille in its itinerary.
