The company's current booking volume for 2016 is on par with last year's record levels, but at higher prices. Increased demand for Caribbean, Alaskan, and Hawaiian itineraries, as well as other North American markets, is offsetting lower demand for European itineraries.

“Strong demand from the Caribbean, Alaska, and Bermuda markets is offsetting the weakness seen in Europe, primarily due to lower demand,” said Wendy Beck, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings. “Factors such as strong booking volume and competitive pricing in key markets, as well as the addition of the Seven Seas Explorer to our fleet, are contributing to strong results in the second half of the year.”.

Booking trends for the first half of 2017 remain high and prices are higher.

The Company has named its first ship built specifically for the Chinese market Norwegian Joy, with a capacity for 3,900 passengers. The new Breakaway Plus class ship will sail for the first time in China in the summer of 2017.

“Our recent announcements about Norwegian Joy, our ship built specifically for the Chinese market, have been very well received and have given us a strong boost ahead of the ship’s introduction in 2017,” explained Frank Del Rio, President and CEO of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings.

Norwegian Cruise Line has announced its select itineraries for fall-winter 2017/18 with highly sought-after destinations and routes to more than 370 ports around the world.
