The Cruise Lines International Association, the unified voice and leading authority of the global cruise community, has announced that its annual “Cruise Month” campaign, to be held in October, will become a global initiative.

“The opportunity to launch the campaign internationally is a natural consequence of the industry’s continued global growth and our ongoing efforts to showcase the full range of cruise options for every type of traveler,” said D’Aoust, President and CEO of CLIA. “Each region will create market-specific programs within the framework of the global ‘Cruise Month’ campaign, which will be used internationally with a single objective: to promote cruise tourism, provide resources and tools to our community of travel agents, and raise awareness of the global cruise industry.”.
The “Cruise Month” campaign will be held throughout North America, Australia and Europe, adapted to the needs of each market and is also designed to give visibility to travel agents.
“Travel agents play an essential role in the cruise industry, as internationally, more than 75% of cruises are booked through travel agencies, so their support and commitment are vital to the campaign’s success,” said D’Aoust. “The initiative provides a perfect platform for travel agents, cruise lines, and industry partners to demonstrate that there is a cruise for every style and budget.”
The “Cruise Month” campaign will officially launch in October 2016. More details about the initiative, its tools, and resources will be released in the coming months.
