Princess Cruises , a subsidiary of Carnival Corporation & plc (NYSE/LSE: CCL; NYSE: CUK), was awarded the Excellence Award for “Best Premium Cruise Line” for the second year in a row on February 18th . The awards are presented by Cruises News Media Group at a gala held in the El Batel Auditorium in Cartagena, attended by representatives from across the industry.
The Excellence Awards are the result of a survey of different customers, carried out last November, where the protagonists of the industry are recognized in 13 different categories, which gives them special value as they are a decision of the passengers themselves.
Agustin Quesada, General Manager of Mundomar Cruceros, the exclusive representative of Cunard and Princess Cruisesin both the Spanish and Portuguese markets, accepted the award. During his acceptance speech, he mentioned the company's flagship, the "Royal Princess," which will, for the first time, offer embarkation in Cartagena during its port calls. The ship, with a capacity of 3,600 passengers, offers two possible itineraries from Cartagena: a seven-day cruise to Rome and a 14-day route to Athens, with a stop in Istanbul. Embarkation dates in Cartagena are May 8 and 29, June 26, July 17, August 14, and September 4.
