Last Saturday, July 4th, the RIVIERA cruise ship, one of the most elegant and sophisticated ships of the last 50 years, made its first stop in our port.
At every first port of call, the Port Authority organizes an exchange of plaques with the Captain. This is a formal welcoming ceremony and also an opportunity to exchange information about the port's technical facilities and tourist attractions in the city and province.
The ship brings 1200 passengers of various nationalities, although mostly Americans, spent the day in Almería visiting the city and its province, in addition to others who left by bus for the Alhambra in Granada.
This is a 10-day cruise that starts in Barcelona and ends in Lisbon. It stops in Marseille, Livorno, Valencia, Almería, and Cádiz.
Built in 2012, the Riviera is an elegant ship with a stunning design and superb interior. It offers passengers a wide variety of dining options, including six gourmet restaurants with no set meal times, all included in the fare.
This is the eighth cruise of the year, with 29 planned stops that will bring a total of 20,000 passengers.
