María Jesús García, new General Manager of Costa Cruises in Spain and Portugal

Ensuring the continuity of Costa's strategic positioning in the market over the last few years, María Jesús García will report directly to Massimo Brancaleoni, recently appointed Senior Vice President of Global Sales.

As part of the new organizational structure recently announced by Costa Crociere SpA, María Jesús García has been appointed Managing Director of Costa Cruises in Spain and Portugal. Since joining the cruise line in July 2013 as Vice President of Sales in Spain, María Jesús has been a key figure in the growth strategy of recent years in our market, which will now be further strengthened by the new organization.

Continuing the company's growth and business and sales strategy in Spain and Portugal, María Jesús García, now as Managing Director, will continue to report to Massimo Brancaleoni, recently appointed Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales, and will be responsible for further consolidating and reinforcing the Italian shipping company's leading position in the Iberian Peninsula.

“I have had the pleasure of working with María Jesús during my time leading Costa Cruises in Spain and Portugal, and I am convinced that, with the experience she has gained both at Costa and in her extensive previous career, and with her leadership skills, she is the ideal person to lead our activities in the Iberian Peninsula and continue to strengthen our ongoing commitment to travel agencies as a strategic partner and the main driver of development for the cruise category in the region,” says Massimo Brancaleoni.

For her part, María Jesús comments: “I am taking on this new challenge with great enthusiasm and energy. I have been fortunate to work with Massimo, one of the most experienced people in both corporate and market operations, including emerging markets like China. I am also proud to have a great team in Spain and with Line-C, our experienced general sales agent in Portugal. Spain is one of the most important markets in Europe for the cruise industry and a traditionally key market for Costa. We will continue working to strengthen our presence, and I am convinced that, thanks to our strong commitment to our Spanish customers and our constant work in this market, we will continue to successfully meet the future challenges ahead.”.
