The shipping company has renewed and expanded its agreement with the leading airline in Spain, including new destinations and increasing its workload by 35% compared to 2014.
Furthermore, Costa Cruises has also been awarded by La Voz de Cádiz in recognition of Costa's continued commitment to promoting tourism in the province.
At the International Tourism Fair (FITUR), held in Madrid from January 28 to February 1, Costa was awarded for her contribution to the business development of Iberia, Spain's leading airline. This award, given annually by the airline to one of its employees, is based on their level of growth compared to previous years and their capacity for innovation and implementation of new initiatives.
Furthermore, during FITUR, both companies also signed the renewal and expansion of the agreement they initiated in 2014, increasing the volume of activity by 35% this year. One of the new features of the agreement is the addition of Stockholm and Rostock airports (to facilitate access for Costa Cruises passengers departing from Warnemünde) to the wide selection of destinations where Iberia connects Costa passengers with direct flights.
“The renewal and expansion of this agreement demonstrates once again our commitment to the Spanish market, where we always strive to innovate and offer the best product to our customers,” explains María Jesús García, Vice President of Sales at Costa Cruises. “Our priority is to guarantee the satisfaction and comfort of our passengers, continuously improving their experience even before they board, connecting them to the ports of embarkation with leading airlines like Iberia.”.
For his part, Víctor Moneo, Sales Director for Iberia in Spain, stated: “We believe the key lies in knowing how to find synergies so that the collaboration between the two companies truly focuses on mutual growth. In this regard, we achieved many things in 2014 and will continue this positive trend in 2015. This is the reason for this recognition of Costa.”.
Costa Cruises' commitment to the Spanish market and ports has also been recognized by the newspaper La Voz de Cádiz, which awarded it a prize for Business Initiative, highlighting the Italian cruise line's long-standing, continuous, and growing activity in the city's port. In 2014, Costa Cruises recorded 34 port calls in Cádiz, representing over one hundred thousand cruise passengers
