Families can triple their fun thanks to the three-story adventure course, Sky Rails, the largest water park at sea, Nickelodeon™ and many more activities.
Norwegian Cruise Line’s largest ship, the Norwegian Escape, will offer thrilling, action-packed activities for families and adrenaline junkies when it departs from its homeport of Miami, beginning in November 2015. The ship will feature the largest adventure course at sea, a three-story sports complex packed with challenges, including two platforms and five Sky Rails with zip lines that will allow guests to soar through the air. The Norwegian Escape’s water park will be the largest at sea and will include a new water slide called Aqua Racer, while the expansive sports complex will feature a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles-themed mini-golf course. For even more family fun, the Norwegian Escape will feature a Nickelodeon-branded children’s water park, along with the first dedicated nursery for children 6 months to 2 years old.

Sports Complex and Aqua Park
The adventure course on the Norwegian Escape takes things to new heights, challenging guests to conquer 99 different features. The three-story sports complex spans the width of the ship from port to starboard. The course tests guests' courage with two Planks, platforms that jut out nearly 8 feet over the edge of the ship. Exhilarating Sky Rails will have guests smiling and feeling the gentle sea breeze as they soar through the air on zip lines, including the option to go off-ship on the longest zip line, which offers spectacular views of the Norwegian Escape that no one should miss. The ship features three Sky Rails on the main adventure course and two on the adventure course for younger children, providing fun and challenges for kids.
The Norwegian Escape's water park will be the largest at sea, featuring four multi-story water slides, a dedicated children's water park, two pools, and four whirlpools. The newest addition to the Norwegian Escape is the Aqua Racer, a water slide where passengers can race side-by-side in winding tubes to the finish line. By popular demand, the Norwegian Escape will also feature the Free Fall, which debuted on the Norwegian Breakaway. These side-by-side slides offer passengers the thrill of a true freefall as the floor opens up beneath them, launching them into a high-energy loop. For those seeking something more relaxing, there's an open water slide suitable for the whole family.
The Norwegian Escape will also elevate the children's water park to a whole new level, with more attractions, an enclosed tube slide, and a two-story climbing structure for kids to explore. This true aquatic paradise offers an incredible array of new facilities for children, including a multitude of interactive water features such as water cannons and an oversized bucket of water that unexpectedly soaks you. The water play areas, along with a multi-story tower, a rope bridge, and an observation deck, will ensure fun for the little ones, who will be delighted with this attraction.
Both the youngest members of the family and those who are still kids at heart can test their skills on the new nine-hole Rooftop 9 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles themed mini-golf course. Inspired by the Nickelodeon animated series, this first-of-its-kind mini-golf course will have guests shouting “Cowabunga!” when they sink a hole-in alongside their favorite characters: Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo.
Norwegian Escape's sports center will also feature a full-size basketball court for family competition and a new bocce court, the first on board the fleet.
Nickelodeon™ Entertainment
The Norwegian Escape will be the sixth Norwegian Cruise Line ship to offer Nickelodeon-branded entertainment, where families can enjoy the latest Nickelodeon activities and events that will entertain children of all ages. They'll have the opportunity to meet SpongeBob SquarePants, Patrick, Dora the Explorer, and Boots, along with other Nickelodeon stars, at the popular Nickelodeon Pajama Jam breakfast. Kids will have the chance to enjoy an action-packed experience with their favorite Nickelodeon characters. At Dora's party, little ones will sing and dance along to familiar songs from Dora the Explorer and other Nickelodeon characters. To keep the fun going, the program also includes additional activities such as Story Time with Dora and arts and crafts activities like the Nickelodeon "Arts and Crafts" paint and craft set.
Children's Fun
For the first time, as part of the Guppies program, the Norwegian Escape will offer nursery services for children aged 6 months to 2 years. The nursery will feature a play area, age-appropriate activities, and a separate nap area. In addition to the nursery services, the Norwegian Escape's Guppies program will offer an open play area for parents and babies, with sensory-based activities, interactive media, and themed activities led by a monitor.
The Norwegian Escape features a large Splash Academy complex located in the center of Deck 5, offering supervised activities for children ages 3 to 12. It is situated next to the family ocean-view staterooms, which can accommodate up to five people. As with all Norwegian Cruise Line ships, upon boarding, parents can use the electronic check-in system via Norwegian Cruise Line's e-Youth tablets. This allows them to swipe their access card to register their children and add a password for added security when dropping off and picking them up.
Thanks to Splash Academy, the ship's children's program will once again feature dedicated spaces for different age groups, as well as a Nickelodeon-themed night and various activities. New to the Norwegian Escape, children participating in Splash Academy will enjoy an enhanced version of the circus school program, with additional skills options and a spectacular, innovative finale. Children will also have the opportunity to celebrate Officer Snook's Theme Day, an expansion of the company's existing program that will share an interactive environmental message through games and activities.
Children aged 3 to 5 can explore their own space decorated with vibrant colors and age-appropriate furniture in an open area for recreational play and an activity center to encourage their creativity. In addition, a series of magnetic whiteboards will keep their little hands busy during program activities.
In a separate area decorated with fun, eye-catching graphics, children aged 6 to 9 will enjoy a space to meet new friends, which also includes video game zones with the latest releases. They will also have space and materials to create their own artwork and crafts.
Children aged 10 to 12 will also have their own dedicated space to hang out, with access to a multipurpose audiovisual and dance area complete with a giant screen, an open space for recreational activities, and comfortable beanbag chairs for relaxing. In addition, this same area will also include stations for individual or group video games.
In short, the Splash Academy is a comfortable and fun "open zone" to spend time in, equipped with sofas and chairs in vibrant colors that create the perfect atmosphere for children to be entertained, with a movie screen and beanbag chairs for them to relax and enjoy their favorite movies.
Entourage, located on Deck 17, is Norwegian Cruise Line's most vibrant area, dedicated exclusively to teenagers aged 13 to 17. This trendy zone offers young people a unique space with cutting-edge furnishings and a central gaming station. Decorated with neon lights, this area also includes air hockey and foosball. At night, Entourage transforms into a teen-only disco, offering team challenges and prizes. It's conveniently located next to the video arcade.
