The company will have a fleet of six ships, increasing its total capacity by 30%.
The Pullmantur Group has announced the addition of a new ship to its fleet: the Majesty. This ship, a sister ship to the Sovereign and Monarch, will become the company's sixth vessel in April 2016, allowing for a 30% increase in passenger capacity for the Pullmantur Group, up to 520,000 passengers annually.
According to Jorge Vilches, CEO and President of Pullmantur, “the arrival of the Majesty will play a very important role in our company's growth plans, and is further proof of the Royal Caribbean Group's commitment to the growth of Pullmantur and Croisières de France.” He added, “The increased capacity that this new addition brings will help us meet the growing demand for cruises tailored to the specific needs of each of the markets in which we operate.”
The Majesty was built in April 1992 at the Chantiers de l'Atlantique (now STX France) in Saint-Nazaire, western France. For the past several seasons, it has been sailing in the Caribbean, based in the port of Miami, offering 3- and 4-night cruises year-round under the Royal Caribbean brand.
The ship, which will undergo a complete refurbishment before joining the Pullmantur fleet, has a capacity for 2,700 passengers, 800 crew members, and more than 1,100 cabins across its 12 decks. It is equipped with all kinds of facilities to ensure its passengers enjoy an unforgettable holiday at sea. These include two large swimming pools, a climbing wall, a sports deck and gym, a solarium, and two jacuzzis. The Majesty also features a large entertainment lounge, a casino and nightclub, as well as several bars for nightlife.
