The program includes live performances and music recorded exclusively for the company by the London Philharmonic Orchestra.
Luxury cruise line Silversea, always looking to surprise its passengers with new offerings and onboard activities, has completely revamped its program of shows and musical performances on its five ships in the classic fleet.
The revamped onboard entertainment program includes seven different shows where meticulous costumes, imaginative staging, and creative visual effects will highlight the talent of the group of singers known as “the voices of Silversea.” The new shows will also feature songs recorded exclusively for the company by the London Philharmonic Orchestra. The three main productions that can be enjoyed in the Show Lounge on all five ships are as follows:
– Music Maestro: A grand ballroom provides the elegant backdrop for this signature Silversea show, a tribute to popular operatic arias and classical music. This 45-minute spectacle is conducted by renowned conductor Richard Balcombe, and the captivating soundtrack has been arranged, performed, and recorded by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of London exclusively for this show and Silversea passengers.
– Mind the gap: 1960s fashion and iconic imagery of a London Underground station propel this lively journey back to 1960 and the British Invasion that conquered the airwaves with legendary pop and rock stars like The Beatles, the Rolling Stones, and Tom Jones.
– Don't stop the music: Passengers are invited to put on their best dancing shoes to join in the tribute to the pulsating rhythms of disco music and take to the dance floor when the onboard DJ keeps the party going.
In addition to these shows, there will be four more that will rotate among the different ships, allowing passengers to enjoy a total of four musical productions on each voyage. These additional performances are Caliente, a show featuring Latin rhythms from Spain and South America; Shaken Not Stirred, capturing the intrigue, glamour, and sophistication of 50 years of James Bond films; Première, a musical tribute to the greatest films in history; and Amore, featuring timeless love songs.
The performances will not only take place in the main lounge, but passengers will also be able to enjoy performances with duets from "The Voices of Silversea" and cabaret-style shows in different spaces within the ship.
“We are delighted to enhance our passengers’ onboard experience with these new entertainment offerings,” said Kristian Anderson, Silversea’s Senior Vice President and General Manager for the Americas. “The shows pay tribute to some of music’s most enduring genres, and are likely to bring back wonderful memories for passengers of bygone days.”.
