The Port of Castellón will receive its third cruise ship call from Windstar Cruises next Sunday, November 2nd. The ship, the Wind Star, is a four-masted sailing vessel flying the Bahamian flag, measuring 134 meters in length and 16 meters in beam. It is a sister ship to the Wind Spirit, which has already visited PortCastelló twice. The ship has a capacity for 168 passengers and 88
crew members.
The sailing vessel Wind Star, handled by Bergé Marítima, will depart from Barcelona on November 1st and complete its voyage in Lisbon on November 9th. The passengers, primarily from the United States, are cycling enthusiasts who will be exploring, among other areas, part of the Vía Verde (Greenway) located between Benicàssim and Oropesa.
The Port Authority of Castellón will present a plaque to the ship's captain in recognition of its first call at the port. Windstar has chosen Castellón for the third time and is launching an attractive offer for its customers: a cycling route along the coast. PortCastelló will add a tent, a red carpet, and a tourist information officer from the Provincial Tourism Board to its special welcome.
The Cruise Committee continues to work actively to promote cruise ship arrivals in Castellón and handle all aspects of welcoming new vessels to the port. This committee is comprised of members from the Port Authority of Castellón, the PortCastelló Foundation, the Municipal Tourism Board, the Provincial Tourism Board, the Chamber of
Commerce, and the Valencian Tourism Agency of the Generalitat Valenciana.
