Pullmantur confirms its headquarters in Spain.
The management and operational team centralizes its base in Spain.
On October 9th, Pullmantur hosted a breakfast at the Loft39 restaurant, where the cruise line's latest developments were presented by its President and CEO, Jorge Vilches, and its Managing Director for Spain and Portugal, Sonia Prieto. They also introduced their new Marketing Director, Manuel García Escudero.
The objective of this meeting was to announce the changes in the company, both at an institutional level and in terms of new routes and fleet renewal.
According to Vilches, the results for 2014 are cause for optimism, as they expect to close the year with approximately 120,000 tickets sold in Spain, 9% more than last year. Regarding next year's outlook, he announced that they anticipate 15% growth compared to this year, as they are experiencing strong demand and a recovery compared to previous years.
Although its headquarters will remain in Spain, it will have sales offices in various locations around the world, especially in the Americas. Its growth in American countries has led to the opening of sales offices in countries such as Colombia, Mexico, and Panama.
One of Jorge Vilches' objectives since joining this company was to create a new section in the organizational chart, the Commercial Strategy area, which he considered one of the main shortcomings of the shipping company.
Sonia Prieto confirmed Pullmantur's commitment and support to travel agencies, offering them continuous training, as they consider them the company's main distribution channel.
Regarding routes and new itineraries, Vilches announced, citing the company's success in Northern Europe, a greater number of ships operating in northern waters, as well as a new route called "Midnight Sun," which will depart from Norway and end in Russia, within the Arctic Circle. He also reaffirmed the potential of the Mediterranean compared to the Caribbean Sea, although he did not announce any new routes.
In the Caribbean, two new itineraries will be presented, Caribe Maya and Costa Maya, which will travel through the Yucatan Peninsula, Central America, and the Bahamas.
The company will receive a new ship, the Majesty of the Seas, the last of the Sovereign class, which will be joined by the Zenith, returning after its dry docking in France. The Empress and the Sovereign are also currently in dry dock.
