Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) has revealed details about its high-end dining offerings for its new and highly anticipated Prima-class ships, the Norwegian Prima and the Norwegian Viva.

The first two of the six ships in this class of cruise ships will push the boundaries of traditional cuisine with their nine new dining and beverage venues, including the Metropolitan Bar, the company's first bar inspired by its sustainability message. NCL also announced its first three-level atrium, the Penrose Atrium, along with significant upgrades to its cruise dining offerings, including the launch of an updated main dining menu, which will be implemented on Norwegian Prima, as well as enhancements to Norwegian's guest-favorite culinary experiences at Le Bistro, Cagney's Steakhouse, and Food Republic, in addition to NCL's coveted Observation Lounge
“We have been innovators in the culinary and beverage offerings for more than three decades, the first cruise line to offer specialty restaurants and the first to introduce our 'Freestyle Cruising' concept, which allows our guests to decide when and where they dine,” said Harry Sommer, President and Chief Executive Officer of Norwegian Cruise Line. “Our latest food and beverage offerings take our Norwegian Prima Food and Beverage experience to another level,” he concluded.
The seven new dining venues aboard Norwegian Prima and Norwegian Viva will take travelers on an epicurean adventure, offering tempting dishes paired with thoughtful design. The new Mediterranean seafood specialty restaurant, Paloma, offers upscale Mediterranean cuisine crafted with simple yet sophisticated ingredients. Hasukiwill feature an intimate space with design elements that blend Japanese-influenced craftsmanship through minimalist décor, handcrafted ceramics, and prominent Japanese artwork. NCL's new contemporary sushi house, Nama, will offer guests exquisite sushi dishes prepared by master chefs who will create world-class sushi and sashimi masterpieces.

Located at the stern of the ship, guests can enjoy breathtaking 270-degree aft views and sample delicious menu items in the new, superb main dining room at Hudson's , or opt for fine dining in a comfortable yet refined setting at The Commodore Room. Both spaces will feature an extensive, updated prix fixe menu, debuting on Norwegian Prima and rolling out to the rest of NCL's 17-ship fleet through 2023.
The Metropolitan Bar will debut under the company’s “Sail and Sustain” program and will feature cocktails made with surplus ingredients. In collaboration with Gerard Bertrand, winner of The Drinks Business’s 2020 Green Awards, the NCL Metropolitan Bar will showcase more than 20 biodynamic wines produced using organic farming methods. Norwegian has once again partnered with James Beard Award nominee and Bar-Lab founder Gabe Orta to pair beverages with sustainability-focused practices. Other new bar and lounge options on Norwegian Prima and Viva include The Belvedere Bar, a contemporary cocktail lounge offering handcrafted cocktails with a fresh, modern twist on classic drinks.
In addition to featuring new restaurants, lounges, and public spaces, the Norwegian Prima and Norwegian Viva will also boast enhanced specialty restaurants and guest favorites. Both ships will offer a total of 35 dining and lounge options for guests.
