Virgin Voyages has appointed Matt Lebbern as market director for Europe, Australia and New Zealand, expanding his role within the company at a time of growth in both markets.
Lebbern joined Virgin Voyages in April 2023, after a 12-year career at Princess Cruises, where he held, among other positions, that of Director of Sales for Europe. Until now, he was Director of Sales for Europe and New Markets.
In her new role, she will oversee sales, distribution, commercial alliances, and market development across the three regions. She will also lead travel agent relations, public relations, and international marketing. She will continue to report to Stephen Hopkins, Senior Vice President of Growth and International Sales and Marketing.
The appointment comes at a particularly opportune time for the company. Europe is on track for a record year, following strong results in 2025, while Australia and New Zealand have seen 30% growth. To consolidate this progress, Virgin Voyages is strengthening its local presence in Australia, where David Clark, Head of Sales for Australia and New Zealand since July, will continue to report to Lebbern. The company expects to announce another addition to the Australian team soon.
According to Lebbern, passengers are also booking their trips further in advance, with an average lead time of about 12 months. The cruise line is thus maintaining its commitment to Europe while developing its commercial structure in Australia and New Zealand.
