The Four Seasons I yacht, the first vessel in the Four Seasons Yachts, has successfully completed its first round of sea trials after leaving the Fincantieri shipyard in Ancona. The trials took place between November 27 and December 1, marking a key milestone in the project's newbuild program.
The sea trials comprised more than 60 technical tests designed to verify the integrated performance of the ship's systems. These assessments covered critical areas such as propulsion, maneuverability, navigation, engineering, safety, comfort, and environmental systems, in accordance with the requirements of the shipowner and the classification society DNV.
A total of 343 international specialists and technicians participated in the tests, including representatives from the Fincantieri shipyard, key suppliers such as Kongsberg, the classification society DNV and the new-build team of the shipowner, Marc-Henry Cruise Holdings, co-owner and operator of Four Seasons Yachts.
In terms of comfort, Four Seasons I has been built to DNV Comfort Class 1 standards, the highest standard for vibration and noise control on passenger ships. The design incorporates variable-speed generators, advanced insulation solutions in technical spaces, and acoustic floating floors in suites and public areas, all aimed at minimizing structural noise transmission and ensuring optimal comfort levels for both guests and crew.
From a technological standpoint, the yacht incorporates a direct current (DC) electrical system, an unusual solution in the cruise industry, which allows for improvements in energy efficiency, operational flexibility, and overall electrical system performance. In terms of safety, the vessel integrates concealed lifesaving systems within designer decks that preserve the exterior aesthetics and are activated first in case of emergency.
The successful execution of these tests confirms that Four Seasons I meets the established design, performance and comfort objectives, representing a new technical benchmark in the ultra-luxury yacht segment within the cruise sector.
