Quark Expeditions presents its 2026-2027 Antarctic season: New Adventures: Whales, Camps, and Science. Celebrating 35 years of Antarctic exploration, the company commemorates this milestone with a series of exciting firsts, including the debut of the World Voyager, an innovative expedition vessel with luxury suites and private balconies, designed specifically for science and discovery.

Quark Expeditions Presents New Antarctic Adventures: Whales, Camps, and ScienceWith 13 itineraries and 43 departures, the upcoming season will offer unprecedented opportunities for travelers to personalize their trip according to their unique sense of adventure. Whether camping under the austral sky, soaring over dramatic landscapes by helicopter, or listening to whale songs guided by onboard scientists, Quark Expeditions is opening more paths than ever before to experience the wonders of Antarctica. Those who book early can enjoy discounts of up to 15% and an exclusive early booking bonus available until May 31, 2025.

World Voyager: Exploration and Science on the High Seas

Joining Quark Expeditions' state-of-the-art fleet, the World Voyager is a modern expedition ship accommodating up to 168 passengers, built for polar exploration and equipped with the latest scientific technology. Guests will stay in luxurious suites with balconies and panoramic views of the icy landscape, ideal for wildlife viewing from the comfort of their cabin. The ship also features a cutting-edge presentation theater and a Science Center to foster immersive educational experiences.

In the 2026-2027 Antarctic season, the Science and Discovery Program will be integrated into all World Voyager sailings. This innovative program will allow guests to interact directly with scientists and researchers and participate in citizen science activities, such as conducting seabird censuses, recording whale sightings, and collecting water samples to assess environmental conditions.

This initiative will provide travelers with unique and practical experiences that will contribute to global scientific research, deepening their understanding and appreciation of the polar ecosystem.

As part of its commitment to scientific research, Quark Expeditions has established an exclusive partnership with the Friedlaender Lab at the University of California, San Diego. This collaboration is the cornerstone of the “Marine Mammals of the Antarctic: The World of Whales and Seals” expedition, an 11-day voyage where guests will have the opportunity to observe whale research up close, led by marine biology experts.

During this trip, travelers will be able to:
Assist scientists in collecting data on whale behavior.
Listen to whale songs with handheld hydrophones.
Follow the migratory routes of species such as minke, humpback, and fin whales.
Collaborate with Happywhale, a citizen science program focused on whale identification and conservation.

Quark Expeditions will continue to push the boundaries of polar exploration with new and expanded off-ship adventures, designed to deliver extraordinary and once-in-a-lifetime experiences.

  • Antarctic Explorer: Discovering the Seventh Continent. Select departures aboard the Ocean Explorer will take advantage of pristine early-season conditions to double the capacity of Antarctic camps, allowing more guests to spend an unforgettable night under the polar sky.
  • Antarctica by Helicopter: Crossing the Circle and the Peninsula (February 16 – March 1, 2027) This new expedition will offer the unique opportunity to cross the Antarctic Circle, combining breathtaking aerial views with ground exploration. Guests will enjoy two scenic flights and a helicopter landing below the Antarctic Circle, all included in the expedition price.
