The Crystal Serenity 's inaugural cruise is scheduled for July 31, departing from Marseille, after completing sea trials off the coast of Trieste (Italy) and following its renovation.

Crystal Cruises stated that the ship had a full contingent of officers, technicians, and engineers on board to test the navigation, technical, and mechanical systems, and that all of them had passed the tests. Regarding a recent fire safety issue in the industry, the cruise line noted that it “ ensured that the fire-resistant panels were properly certified and not defective .”
“The completion of sea trials is one of the last necessary milestones before we can officially return to service,” stated Roberto Fazi, Senior Vice President of Marine Operations. “We are proud of the entire team that has helped us reach this day, both onboard and ashore. We also want to thank our wonderful partners at Fincantieri, who have worked tirelessly to deliver this beautiful ship on time and ready to welcome guests in just a few weeks.”
Under the ownership of A&K Travel Group, the Crystal Serenity will debut with larger, updated suites, reduced occupancy, renovated specialty dining venues, and new wellness offerings, including the renovated and renamed Aurōra Spa, a new pickleball court, and entertainment and events.
The Crystal Serenity will spend the rest of the summer in the Mediterranean before returning to North America in September to sail through Canada and the Caribbean. The ship is also scheduled to make Crystal's world cruise in 2024.
