A record-breaking year begins, with cruise passenger numbers set to double
The strategy of the Port of Melilla to carve out a place in the highly competitive Mediterranean cruise industry is bearing fruit, and forecasts suggest it will achieve three consecutive record-breaking years. In 2025, the Port of Melilla received around 7,100 passengers across 14 cruise calls, many of them from luxury ships, but that figure will fall far short if forecasts of receiving 16,000 passengers in 2026 are met.
