    BIO

I am Maria Andrada, 54, general manager of Scenic in Portugal since 2014.

I have extensive experience in river cruises having started my activity in this area in 2005 as a commercial.

I was responsible for the coming of new markets to the Douro, when I started there were only Americans and English in the Douro, today there are Australians, Canadians, Scandinavians, Belgians, Swiss, New Zealots, Israelites, among others.

I have tried that those who come have a more real and less touristic experience of the Douro, incorporating in the itineraries, operated by us, more authenticity and unique experiences of secular traditions of the Douro.

I am concerned that the Douro is promoted by what sustains it for decades and has allowed this region to remain untouched.
