Valencia – casting off

Located alongside the Mediterranean Sea, Valencia is the perfect combination of tradition and modernity, and it has evolved without relinquishing its historical roots or inheritance. Its unique fusion of ancient history and dynamic innovation provide for a setting that offers a highly diverse range of activities and attracts a wide variety of cruise visitors. And, last but not the least, its climate, with an average annual temperature of 17 degrees centigrade (63 degrees Fahrenheit) and at least 300 sunny days per year.

This innovative spirit has contributed to Valencia’s leading growth in the area of urban tourism in Europe. Valencia’s cruise industry has experienced a period of spectacular growth due to the combined efforts of Valencia Tourism and the Port Authority over the last few years: 2016 counted 181 stop-overs with 4030264 passengers.

The variety of tourist activities for all audiences makes Valencia a very appealing destination. With mild temperatures year round, the city offers a harmonious blend of ancient and cutting edge architecture, the Marina, kilometres of beaches and green pedestrian zones crisscrossing the city from east to west, natural parks just 15 minutes from the centre and delicious gastronomy— prepared with fresh, quality ingredients — that show cases both its traditional dishes and those prepared by Michelin star chefs.

On course for our destination
The Port of Valencia has excellent connections to the International Airport, which is just 30 minutes away by road as well as by public transport. The 350km between Valencia and the capital Madrid can be covered in just one and a half hours with the AVE High Speed Train, which is without question a great incentive that makes it easier for passengers to reach our port.

Popular/emblematic tourist routes
