On May 24, the first edition of the PORTO & DOURO CRUISE FORUM will be held.
Porto will become, on 24 May, the focus of the cruise industry, with the celebration of PORTO & DOURO CRUISE FORUM 2017, an event that will bring together in Porto the local, national and international cruise industry. The event is organised by Cruises News Media Group, an international company specializing in the cruise industry and organiser of the International Cruise Summit and Luis de Carvalho, CEO of BA Europe acting as director and moderator.
The PORTO & DOURO CRUISE FORUM 2017 is an event for professionals of the tourism industry, cruise professionals, auxiliary industry, travel agencies, institutions related to tourism promotion, as well as hospitality services, restaurants, museums, shops and any services that benefit or may benefit from cruise tourism in Porto and the Douro.
The celebration of the event is the result of the initiative by the Porto Cruise Terminal APDL and Via Navegavel Douro APDL and is co-financed by the European Union.
The event will be opened by the board Chairman at APDL, the President at Matosinhos Municipality and the President of North Portugal Regional Coordination and Development Commission (CCDRN-N) and with the participation of cruise line executives from river and ocean tourism, The Cruise line International Association (CLIA), consultants, experts and professionals from some of the largest ship agents and tour operators in Portugal.
The forum is organized in short introductory presentations that will analyse the state of the industry, the position of Portugal in worldwide itineraries, Porto and Portugal as a cruise destination, river cruising on the Douro and Europe and the Porto Cruise Terminal. The PORTO & DOURO CRUISE FORUM 2017 will offer three panels mainly formed by executives of cruise companies, airlines and tour operators and with the active participation of delegates.
The organizers have also planned a familiarization programme for the speakers and international guests including visits to the city of Porto and Douro highlights.
